What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Openverse, the developer of TeachKeep (“TeachKeep,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles information when you use the TeachKeep mobile app, teachkeep.com, or our support channels.

Homeschool records stored on your device

The app is designed to store household profiles, child profiles, school years, learning records, reading-material titles, notes, dates, and durations locally on your device by default.

The underlying record database and original evidence files are not uploaded to a TeachKeep account server. In version 1.0.1 and later, analytics excludes child names, record content, and evidence, and session replay is disabled. Records leave the device when you choose to export or share files, send information to support, or use a future sync feature that clearly asks for your action. If a cloud-sync feature is introduced, this policy and the in-app explanation will be updated before it is enabled.

App analytics

TeachKeep may process limited product-use events to understand whether the app launches, onboarding works, records can be created, purchase screens load, purchases restore, and errors occur.

In version 1.0.1 and later, PostHog receives limited product-use events. Session replay and automatic screen capture are disabled. We do not send child or parent names, record titles, notes, resource names, evidence files, or file paths in these events. Technical information may include a pseudonymous app-installation identifier, app version, platform, operating-system version, event time, entitlement status, and event categories. We do not use this information for advertising, cross-app tracking, or educational decisions about a child.

Earlier versions may have different analytics behavior. This policy previously described full session replay; that description does not apply to version 1.0.1 and later. Check the version installed on your device and update when the new version is available. Contact us with questions about an older version.

Website analytics

Teachkeep.com is static-first. If website analytics are enabled, they use an allowlist of product events and fields such as the page path, CTA placement, plan, billing period, landing path, referrer hostname, and strictly allowlisted UTM source, medium, and campaign values. Unknown attribution values are dropped. Website analytics do not receive arbitrary URL query strings, full referrer URLs, form contents, email addresses, child information, or record content from our code.

Website session replay, heatmaps, autocapture, person profiles, cookies, and persistent browser storage are disabled. Analytics are a no-op when the analytics project token is not configured.

Teachkeep.com also uses Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate website usage, such as pages viewed, referrer, device type, and approximate location. Google Ads features, remarketing, and Google signals are not enabled, and we do not send Google Analytics any personally identifiable information. Purchases and subscriptions

Apple processes current iPhone payments. We do not receive your full payment-card details. RevenueCat may help verify purchase status and restore access. It may process an app-user identifier, product and entitlement identifiers, purchase status, storefront, and related technical information.

Deleting local homeschool records does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription. Cancel subscriptions using the store account that made the purchase.

Device permissions

TeachKeep uses the system photo picker and Files picker when you choose evidence to import; it accesses the items you select. It does not request broad photo-library, camera, microphone, contacts, location, or notification access. System export and share controls open when you choose to save or share.

Exports and sharing

When you create or share a raw archive, its record content is handed to the destination you choose. That destination’s privacy terms apply after sharing. Review both the recipient and the included learner information before sending the file. Household Plus also provides PDF and CSV portfolio exports; raw JSON export remains available without a subscription.

Support communications

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you include. Send the smallest amount of information needed to explain the issue. Do not send payment-card details, passwords, a full portfolio, or identifiable child records unless we specifically confirm they are necessary.

Children’s privacy

TeachKeep is designed for a parent or guardian to organize records. It is not intended for a child to create an independent account or submit personal information directly to us. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the website.

Retention and deletion

• Local records remain on the device until you use delete all, clear app storage, or remove the app.
• Raw export and delete-all controls are designed to remain available without a paid subscription.
• Purchase records are retained by stores and entitlement providers as needed for billing, restoration, fraud prevention, accounting, and legal obligations.
• Analytics and diagnostics follow provider retention settings and our operational needs.
• Support messages are kept as long as reasonably necessary to respond and maintain an appropriate support history.

Local-first storage means we generally cannot retrieve a record that existed only on a lost, erased, or uninstalled device. Keep independent copies of records you must preserve.

Service providers and international processing

Providers may include Apple for app distribution and payments, RevenueCat for entitlement management, PostHog for limited product analytics, and Cloudflare for website delivery and security. These providers may process limited information in countries other than yours under their own terms, safeguards, and applicable law.

No advertising sale or cross-app tracking

TeachKeep does not sell child record content, use it for behavioral advertising, or use third-party advertising SDKs. We do not ask app users for permission to track them across other companies’ apps and websites for ads.

Your choices and requests

• Delete all local records and profiles from the app.
• Export records you want to preserve before deletion or device changes.
• Revoke optional device permissions in system settings.
• Cancel a subscription in Apple subscription settings.
• Contact us about support, analytics, or purchase information associated with you.

Applicable law may provide additional rights. We may need to verify a request and may be unable to identify data that is not linked to an account or that exists only on your device.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, but no device, storage method, or transmission system is completely secure. Protect your device account, lock screen, exported archives, and backups.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as TeachKeep changes. The revision date will appear above. Material changes may also be announced in the app or store listing when required.
